The Spaniard, a classic New York corner tavern in the West Village, is looking to grow our management team!
THE ROLE:
As a member of the management team, you will help oversee daily operations for The Spaniard. We're looking for a strategic thinker, problem-solver, multi-tasker, and excellent communicator. This key leader will uphold The Spaniard’s standards of excellence in all areas including team management, quality of service, workplace culture, and guest relations.
WHO YOU ARE:
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership role in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Extensive knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and cocktails, preferably strong whiskey knowledge
- An approachable leader who can motivate, manage and develop a large and diverse team
- Excellent verbal and written/digital communication skills
- Self-starter who is results-oriented and who appreciates and takes initiative on both the essential details and the bigger picture
- Team player with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
- Full availability, including nights and weekends
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Hands-on management of day-to-day operations of The Spaniard
- Help oversee the FOH and BOH teams, working floor shifts creating a positive work environment, driving sales, motivating the team, and creating exceptional guest experiences
- Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and overall development of team members including orientation, performance reviews, and any necessary disciplinary actions
- Foster a dynamic, enjoyable, and inclusive culture
- Maintain quality and standards of The Spaniard’s culture, food, drink, service, and atmosphere
