CAPTAIN'S ASSISTANT

Captain's Assistant are a key member, providing support to the Captain's in ensuring every guest has an authentic and memorable experience at Five Acres. You will assist in keeping the meal moving forward, glasses full, tables neat, and clearing/resetting when our guests have finished. 

Candidate prerequisites:

• Proficiency in steps of service
• Able and willing to work as part of a team 
• High level of interest in food & beverage 
• Experience with non-verbal communication 
• Creative and self-motivated problem solver
• Passionate about interacting with guests.

Additional requirements:

• Must be able to lift/move up to 10lbs, frequently lift/move up to 25lbs, and occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously

Compensation Details:

• Compensation: Hourly, plus tips

Our approach is informed by the fine-dining schools from which Chef Greg Baxtrom and our team have learned, but is casual and approachable. 

Chef Greg Baxtrom’s first restaurant Olmsted was a James Beard Awards Finalist for Best New Restaurant in 2017. The owners started the NYC Hospitality Coalition, a food bank for those impacted by COVID-19, and the Black Entrepreneur Series pop-up in the space of Maison Yaki (our sister restaurant) this year.
