Summary
The Floor Manager reports to the General Manager and supervises and directs activities of staff to ensure guests have a pleasant experience. Assists staff and guests, ensures prompt resolutions to guest and staff inquiries.
Floor Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists guests with choices and questions
• Takes and resolve complaints from customers in a timely manner
• Provides support to FOH staff during service
• Processes items on Toast POS for FOH staff as needed
• Assists in supervising FOH staff during service
• Assists with promotions for restaurant
• Assists with weekly work schedules for FOH staff
• Processes, reviews and approves server and/or bar cash out paperwork at end of shift
• Assists in maintaining employee relations and safety of all employees
• Assists as needed with catering events
• Assists with purchases as needed
• Assists in preparation of inventory as needed
• Assists in investigating food quality and service complaints
• Assists in inspecting food, including portion control, and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations
• Documents the needs of guests and communicates to the FOH staff to ensure guest satisfaction
• Engages guests in positive dialogue to ensure return business
• Makes sure all staff members comply with safe food and alcohol handling procedures
• Reports and documents any HR related incidents related to FOH and BOH staff
• Checks restaurant cleanliness, lighting, music, aesthetics throughout each shift
• Performs restaurant opening and closing duties
• Schedules, organizes repair and maintenance as needed
• Assists with training of new employees
• Assists head chefs and general manager in planning and coordinating menus, keeping trends and competition information in mind
• Assists with marketing activities and promotional events on and off-site
• Assists with stocking inventory as required
• Processes of guest refunds and print itemized receipts for guests as requested
• Checks info email account daily, answer guests’ questions, forward event and big party inquiries
• Supports the GM in updating Toast back of the house system
• Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and pre-scheduled events
• Ability to offer excellent customer service
• Work experience as a Floor Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry
• Team management abilities

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Two years minimum prior management experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
RBS Training Alcohol Seller/Server Certified, NY Food Handler Certified
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
