JOB BRIEF: A cook creates the culinary creations severed from our kitchen. Enjoys working in a busy restaurant, is passionate and takes pride in their work. Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract patrons. COOK RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: ● Maintain knowledge of: o All recipes. o Portion control. o Health codes. o Safety procedures. o Sanitation codes. ● Properly uniformed and maintain cleanliness during shift. ● Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes. ● Assist in preparation of employee meals. ● Check food for freshness. ● Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc. ● Setting up, cleaning, and organizing work stations. ● Preparing oven, utensils, and grill for shift. ● Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed. ● Taking orders from wait staff or computerized system. ● Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive. ● Cooking order according to food health and safety standards. ● Handling multiple food orders at one time. ● Delivering food order to wait staff in a timely manner. ● Maintains consistent plate presentations in accordance with the Companies standardized recipes. ● Dressing order for presentation. ● Ensuring each patron order has the correct food and sides. ● Sanitizing and cleaning work stations and utensils. ● Storing all food properly. ● Assist with inventory. ● Reordering stock and food supplies. ● Attention to detail. ● Communicate with Head Sautee on any kitchen issues/patrons’ complaints. ● Maintains safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, complying with health and legal regulations, maintaining security systems.
REQUIREMENTS: ● Minimum two (2) years high end restaurant cooking experience including food preparation. ● Current SERVSAFE certification or has successfully completed a sanitation course within the past year. ● Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc. ● Current food handler’s card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law. ● Comfortable using a computer, navigating Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook Email. ● High school diploma or GED.
