Want to work with a bunch of overachievers that make amazing food in an impossibly small kitchen? Want to work with a Master Sommelier and the most ambitions by the glass wine list from DC to NYC? Want a consistent schedule with never being scheduled Mondays or Tuesday? If you have a passion for warm hospitality, incredible food, and working with fun and friendly co-workers and guests in a welcoming environment, you are the person we want to join our team. We are looking for a professional Sous Chef with ambitions to become a Chef de Cuisine.

Responsibilities

  • Help in the preparation and design of all food menus
  • Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices

About Us: Tremolo Bar is owned by Jarad Slipp, a Master Sommelier and CIA/ICIF trained chef. He brings his lifetime of fine dining experience and wealth of wine knowledge to this new neighborhood casual fine dining establishment.

Compensation: Generous hourly base rate with shared tip pool for both FOH and BOH. Tips are shared amongst all hourly employees! We are commited to making sure everyone one makes a living wage. Salary available for the right candidates.


Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($18.00 - $22.00) plus tips

Estimated Weekly Tips: $200

Benefits & Perks: fixed scheduling, Monday and Tuesday's off
