FOH Cook for Quick Service Cafe at Golf Club

Lake Merced Golf Club is looking for a service lead with cooking and food prep experience who enjoys greeting and interacting with their guests! This position is for our recently re-opened Turn stop, which provides quick meals and drinks to our members and their guests. As a private, members-only club, we pride ourselves in offering outstanding hospitality to our members and guests in a warm and professional atmosphere. We hope to add both a passionate and self-motivated person to our team. The Turn serves a range of items designed by our Executive Chef throughout the day. We also have snacks and a full beverage selection from wine, beer and cocktails to many non-alcoholic offerings as well.

An ideal candidate will be an organized and detail-oriented person, who enjoys providing warm, hospitable experiences to our members and guests. We are a small team in the F&B department, so teamwork and a desire to help everyone is a must! This is a 5 day a week, full time position, with 30-40 hours of work per week. This position work in tandem with a partner and will entail taking and assembling orders; as well as communicating with members, and keeping the dining area tidy and clean.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create dynamic dining experiences for golfers and guests looking for high quality, quick fire food and beverages
  • Greet and facilitate F&B orders for members and their guests with a great attitude and attention to detail within our POS computer system
  • Make simple mixed drinks (vodka/tonics, bloody Marys, margaritas, etc.)
  • Anticipate orders and service needs
  • Getting to know our members by engaging with throughout their Turn Stop experience
  • Strong attention to detail with impeccable service standards.
  • Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
  • Plating prepared foods based on Executive Chef’s guidance
  • Working with others to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
  • Ensuring that the operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
  • Ensures recipes & menus are executed to the expected level of standard for all restaurant outlets and club events.
  • Ensures that high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained at all times.
  • Evaluates food products to ensure that quality standards are consistently obtained
  • Understands dietary concerns as well as common food allergies and is able to communicate those needs and requests with staff and management
  • Attends pre-shift meeting to receive instruction about menu and service.
  • Ability to remember and carry out all instructions.
  • Must be able to follow directions and communicate with managers and fellow staff.
  • Checks in with fellow staff and managers to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned such as cleaning prep and service areas, returning all supplies to storage areas
  • Ability to find additional work to do during “slow times” (anticipating needs for next day, stocking product)
  • Ability to clearly communicate with F&B Department Managers of other job or school schedules. Employee must give two weeks’ notice of a request for time off or a change to an existing school or work schedule.
