BEVERAGE RECEIVER
The beverage receiver will work closely with and under the supervision of the Beverage Director to oversee the beverage inventory for The Ragtrader and The Parlour Room.
The receiver is primarily responsible for signing in all beverage deliveries, moving and storing them according to guidelines, and performing cleaning tasks related to the maintenance of the beverage storage areas.
Essential Responsibilities and Basic Duties:
Receive beverage deliveries daily ensuring all products are accepted correctly.
- Match deliveries against purchase orders, checking in the invoice line by line.
- Have awareness of any damaged product while accepting the deliveries. Ask drivers to make notes.
- Move all incoming product to their assigned storage rooms.
- Unpack the product with care, storing all items in proper containers with clear, neat labels.
- Identify and differentiate between all perishables, dried goods, liquor, wine beer, etc.
- Communicate effectively with the restaurant teams, FOH and BOH.
- Store invoices according to restaurant procedure.
- Maintain secure storage areas and always locked.
- Perform routine cleaning of storage areas, liquor rooms, dried-good area, refrigerators, etc.
- Perform inventory counts as requested during the week.
- Work with beverage director to take a monthly inventory audit of all products.
Requirements / Ideal Candidate:
- Experience as a receiver in a full-service restaurant.
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to transport and lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Good sense of balance and able to lift, bend, kneel, stoop, etc.
- Familiarity with labels for liquor, wine, beer, etc.
- Knowledge of, and adherence to, sanitation and safety laws.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Basic estimation and math skills.
- Comfortable dealing with staff trainings and serve as an educator.
- Ability to transport up to 70 pounds on occasion and lift 50 pounds regularly.
