Retail Operations Manager

You’re a fun, hardworking, experienced retail manager who is passionate about our guest experience and committed to using your skills to create beautiful, carefully curated displays in our stores.

You’ll use your retail, merchandising, business, people, and storytelling expertise to strategize, plan and facilitate a warm experience that furthers our store presence. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our SingleThread and Little Saint teams to drive sales with merchandise that is thoughtful, sustainable, and good to the world.


What you’ll be doing in this role…

You will lead operations at each location and will be responsible for making sure the stores function smoothly while optimizing profits. You will lead assortment planning, purchasing, merchandising, inventory processes and hiring across all retail locations. You are also responsible for overseeing and ensuring receiving and restocking efforts are executed in accordance with required standards, and be willing to assist personally as needed. You will be expected to lead creation of SOPs and processes to ensure efficient operations, and will be required to work collaboratively with leadership and management at multiple locations.

  • You’re a pro at growing sales and driving traffic
  • You are able to juggle multiple projects while communicating honestly about your timelines, challenges and questions
  • You love retail and personal development
  • You’re experienced with retail sales KPIs and use them to define, monitor, and grow the business
  • You have experience working with and giving feedback to external creators
  • You’re an effective, clear communicator 
  • You’re always on time (or early) and strive to deliver ahead of deadlines
  • You care deeply about your work, colleagues, and the wellbeing of our company
  • You’re not thin skinned or (overly) attached to your ego — you’re focused on finding, developing, and executing on the best ideas to get the best results

In an ideal world, you have:

  • Minimum 2+ years of retail operations and management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent  and professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information.
  • Excellent team management, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize time and meet deadlines under time constraints.
  • Proficiency in  PC and/or Mac based MS Office, POS, finance and inventory management systems.
  • Creative problem solving and critical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work a varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time, reach, bend, stoop, climb and frequently lift up to 30 pounds
