Boka Restaurant Group and Executive Chef Giuseppe Tentori (two-time James Beard semi-finalist for “Best Chef: Great Lakes”) are currently seeking a LINE COOK to join the team of GT Fish & Oyster, located in Chicago’s bustling River North neighborhood!

ABOUT GT FISH & OYSTER: GT Fish & Oyster redefines the American seafood restaurant with just the right blend of refined and rustic, traditional and inventive. LINE COOK RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ability to execute prep, set-up and plating with accuracy, speed and attention to detail
  • Prepare all dishes in a timely manner by maintaining a properly stocked and organized station
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers, managers and guests

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of cooking methods, techniques and knife skills
  • Ability to read and follow cooking instructions
  • Ability to problem solve and execute through stressful situations

This is an ideal position for someone who is dedicated to providing great service and is seeking to become a member of a hard-working and fun team!

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 10- 20lbs if necessary.
  • Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment.
  • Stand and walk for the entirety of an eight-hour shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant.

GT Fish & Oyster opened its doors in 2011. The seafood focused menu by Giuseppe Tentori is a combination of 50% modern dishes and 50% traditional dishes all served as sharable. The space, put together by renowned designers 555, was inspired by what principal Karen Herold calls “part James Bond’s yacht, part New England Cottage.” One of the most difficult reservations to get in Chicago, the 90 seat GT boasts a massive 22 seat bar, a “boomerang” table that seats 12 and a 4 seat oyster bar. Giuseppe Tentori was named Chef of the Year for his work at GT Fish & Oyster by Chicago Social, and Chicago Tribune named GT Fish & Oyster one of the outstanding restaurants of 2012.
