Job Details

The Dinex Group, a growing restaurant group by Chef Daniel Boulud, is seeking a Captain for Boulud Sud in New York City's Upper West Side (across from the Lincoln Center). 

The Captain's responsibility is to take care of guests in an accommodating and professional manner and to ensure total guest satisfaction. The Captain is responsible for a specific station and should always be present on the floor making sure that service runs smoothly. The Captain should be knowledgeable and passionate about food, wine, and service in general. He/she will be the main contact and ambassador to guide guests through their meal. The Captain must have an ability to lead their team, and will control the pace and flow of all the tables in their station.

The position requires at least 2 years of serving experience in a high volume, fast-paced, preferably fine dining environment. Experience with pre-theater dining is a plus.


Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly (Based on Experience) plus tips

Boulud Sud is Chef Daniel Boulud’s vibrant Mediterranean-inspired restaurant featuring flavors that travel the entire Mediterranean region from the shores of Southern France to the coast of North Africa and beyond. There is an emphasis on grilled fish and lamb as well as an abundance of fresh vegetables on menu sections entitled “De La Mer”, “Du Jardin” and “De La Ferme”. The Mid-Century Modern interiors, including a spacious bar and lounge, are decorated in tones of sunflower yellow and slate grey. The light filled space is framed by floor to ceiling windows, vaulted ceilings, pear wood paneling and terrazzo floors, as well as works by famed artist Vik Muniz. The restaurant, with an entrance on West 64th Street, is just steps from Manhattan’s Lincoln Center and is adjacent to Bar Boulud and Épicerie Boulud.
