Longshot Hospitality is hiring a Restaurant Manager for The Salt Line Ballston, opening late this summer. The Salt Line is known for great atmosphere, superb hospitality, excellent food and an enjoyable vibe—the kind of place you meet up with friends again, and again. We are looking for a seasoned manager who will work to ensure a superior experience for guests and staff alike, always remembers that restaurants are fun, and is looking to take the next step with a growing company.

This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Supervisory Responsibilities

This employee’s primary duty is managing and supervising front of house staff and managers:

  • Responsible for organizing work schedules for employees ensuring appropriate staffing coverage
  • Interviews, selects, counsels, appraises performance, disciplines, and other personnel actions
  • Makes recommendations for hiring, firing, advancement, promotion and other change of status
  • Responsible for the departmental orientation of new employees
  • Submits payroll information for payroll processing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees the general functioning of the dining room during the meal service period, as well as the bar and cocktail service staff during operating hours, relaying information to service personnel, requesting feedback from guests as to their satisfaction, making adjustments when and where necessary
  • Estimates and orders food, liquors, wines, or other beverages, and supplies
  • Assists in maintaining essential inventories of all necessary equipment
  • Conducts walk through prior to opening checking for proper maintenance and set up of dining area, and service staff
  • Ensures facility is clean, organized and prepared
  • Responsible for all meals being served properly, and according to the established policies and procedures
  • Assists with duties of servers and bus persons, such as securing a food item for a patron, resetting a table, to ensure effective and efficient service and guest satisfaction
  • Monitors food served relative to appearance, temperature, sanitary and quality standards, and portion control
  • Inspects establishment and observes workers and patrons to ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards
  • Completes all administrative requirements in a timely manner
  • Oversees the execution of banquet functions, (if applicable)
  • Assists restaurant staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Safeguards cash and credit card information received by customers for payment of services.

  • Communications - Expresses ideas and thoughts verbally in a clear and professional manner; expresses ideas and thoughts in written form in a clear and professional manner; exhibits good listening and comprehension; keeps others adequately informed

  • Food and Health Codes – Ensures strict adhered to all applicable food and health codes, including but not limited to guidelines regarding responsible alcohol service

Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience - Two years minimum related experience in a full-service restaurant
  • Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • TIPS Certification preferred
  • ABC Manager License preferred
  • Certified Food Protection Manager Certification preferred
  • Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • All Salt Line staff must be fully vaccinated

Compensation: Salary ($60,000.00 - $70,000.00)
