Job Details

The Cafes at MoMA are looking for a Receiver to join their growing team!

Who you are: Receivers are responsible for the coordination of all incoming deliveries to the restaurant along with proper storage and organization of storage areas. Receivers are required to handle multiple daily responsibilities, display an ability and willingness to learn and take direction, and work in a team environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Understand order and inventory sheets in anticipation of upcoming deliveries.
  • Carefully check-in deliveries accurately and thoroughly keeping delivery areas clean and clear for multiple deliveries.
  • Be aware of any damaged, missing, or incorrect items and effectively communicate and rectify with the delivery driver.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify all perishables, dry goods and non-food products used at the restaurant.
  • Unpack and store products with care, clearly and accurately labeling the product. Consolidate and ensure product is being rotated throughout the day.
  • Communicates effectively with the kitchen team and embodies an environment of team work.

What we need from you:

  • Experience in a kitchen support position within full-service restaurant
  • Basic computer skills are a plus
  • Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
  • English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required

  • Transit Program: All employees are eligible to elect to set aside pre-tax dollars each month toward the cost of commuting. You may choose up to the Federal Allowed maximum per month and these elections are deducted pre-tax. As a result you will pay less in taxes each year.
  • 401(k) Plan: USHG offers a voluntary retirement investment plan that allows you to defer a portion of your income and use pre-tax dollars to save for your retirement. All employees who are 21 years of age or older may elect to participate after 12 months of continuous employment.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts: All employees who have completed 12 months of continuous, full-time employment may elect to set up Flexible Spending Accounts in January of each year. Flexible Spending Accounts allow employees to defer pre-tax income to pay for certain eligible expenses including health care costs not covered by health insurance, transportation to work, and qualified child care expenses. Flexible Spending allows you to increase the income you take home by reducing the amount of taxes you pay for qualified expenses.
  • Direct Deposit: We offer direct deposit of paychecks to your financial institution at no cost to you. You may sign up for direct deposit at any time.
  • Corporate Discount Programs: As a USHG employee, you can get a discounted rate at area gyms and massage services. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to stay healthy and strong!
  • Employee Dining Program: Through this program, we hope to make dining in our restaurants a reality for all our employees. The program starts out as a discount program and adds Dining Dollars over time.

Located at the Museum of Modern Art, Cafe 2 offers an array of delicious, fresh and seasonal foods from multiple food outlets throughout the museum. In Cafe 2, guests order and are served at communal tables by our warm, caring staff. Museum visitors can also take a quick break at the Espresso Bar to relax and recharge after an enriching day of viewing art.

When MoMA re-opens this fall, we will open a new cafe on the sixth floor serving seasonal, small plates in a full-service setting.

the Cafes at MoMA are open to Museum visitors only. Reservations are not accepted. Guests are welcomed on a first-come-first-served basis. All major credit cards are welcomed.
