TAKODA RESTAURANT & BEER GARDEN is HIRING KITCHEN MANAGER/SOUS CHEF for RECENTLY OPENED, HIGH VOLUME RESTAURANT in the NAVY YARD neighborhood!

Better Hospitality Group (BHG) is the operating group behind four of Washington, D.C.’s most cherished neighborhood bar/restaurants: TAKODA in the capital’s bustling Shaw neighborhood, Boardwalk Bar & Arcade on the waterfront at The Wharf, and our newest TAKODA location in the Navy Yard neighborhood across the street from Nationals Park.  Over the next few months, BHG will be opening a new wine bar concept, Easy Company, on the waterfront at The Wharf. BHG is the fastest growing bar/restaurant group in the Greater Washington region.

We are seeking a passionate, talented Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef to oversee our most recently opened project, TAKODA RESTAURANT & BEER GARDEN, in the happening Navy Yard neighborhood.  Ideal Candidate is someone with drive and ambition who wants to prove they can take charge of a kitchen. If hired you will be responsible for the kitchen including but not limited to food quality, cleanliness, staff, training, and ticket times. You will report directly to our Corporate Chef who oversees all kitchen operations. This individual is responsible for our guest satisfaction through our food, so they keep coming back, and to maintain employee morale. This position will work in partnership with and fully communicate with the FOH Manager on Duty. Experience in private events is a plus. It is important to understand that the quality and consistency in our food and presentation is our highest priority.

 Qualified candidates will have:

- Minimum of 1 year of progressive culinary experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef or Kitchen Lead in full-service, high-volume restaurants.

- Actively practice food safety procedures.

- Organizational skills.

- Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop employees.

- Influential, team-oriented leadership style with a proven track record of working with high-performing teams.

- Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Strong writing and computer skills with a degree in culinary arts from an accredited University preferred.
