Nationally recognized Bang Bang Pie & Biscuit shop in Logan Square is preparing for a busy fall season! Join our small but mighty team & say good bye to late night hours! Looking for a kind & fun loving human to work in our busy cafe to prepare savory items on the line including biscuit sandwiches, grits, pot pies & more for our cafe guests & wholesale clients. Multi tasking & ability to work a busy hot line composing dishes consistently throughout the shift required. Competitive hourly pay + portion of pooled tips consistently averages at or above $23+/Hour & may increase as we get busier for the fall season! No late hours! Strong advancement opportunities. Tasks include but not limited to:


  1. Oversee production, ensuring that it is being efficiently executed.
  2. Communicate with the kitchen manager/chef and line cooks as well as Bakery Manager & baker(s) & catering team to define prep needs.
  3. When the kitchen manager/chef is away, serve as acting manager. (placing orders, scheduling, overseeing all of savory production, working the line if needed.)
  4. Assist in menu development, training procedures, development and upkeep of operational documents
  5. Keeping walk-in organized and clean at all times (including condensing, FIFO)
  6. Putting orders away when they arrive in organized manner
  7. Assist with monthly inventory.
  8. Training new hires
  9. Effectively manage the team, referring to the training manual, and job description of team members to hold them accountable. Building team members up through monthly check-ins.
  10. Assist line cooks with prep projects including biscuits and large projects
  11. Assist with wholesale production (dough, pot pies, etc)
  12. Assist with placing orders and receiving them / properly putting them away when the arrive
  13. Expo when kitchen manager/chef needs to step away
  14. Maintain standards for quality for all products.
  15. Perform any opening/mid-shift/closing procedures in place
  16. Ability to lift 50+ lbs consistently. 
  17. Working in accordance with all Chicago health standards, as well as having a current food handlers/managers certificate & work in a clean and sanitary manner.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($18.00 - $25.00)
