Award-winning, multi-concept hospitality group, STARR Restaurants is seeking industry professionals to join our team at El Vez located adjacent to acclaimed sister restaurant Steak 954 at the W Fort Lauderdale. Its breathtaking space is a feast for the eyes with imaginatively designed dining areas, indoor and outdoor bars, a spacious patio, and beautiful ocean vistas.

El Vez's culinary program showcases creative, yet classic Mexican fare with an emphasis on Baja-style cooking that celebrates the fresh seafood of the South Florida region. An array of Guacamoles, Ceviches and classics likes Mahi Mahi Tacos sit side-by-side on the extensive menu along with signature dishes like Grilled Whole Branzino and Traditional Tacos al Carbon.

Desired candidates will have:

  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, teach, and coach restaurant employees
  • 2+ years of kitchen leadership experience as a sous chef in high-volume, well-rated restaurants
  • Ability to support the line during service while managing transition from prep to service
  • Excellent meat/fish butchery skills and know all properties of making stocks & sauces
  • An Associate's degree from a culinary focused university highly preferred
  • Experience with regional Mexican cuisine is highly preferred
