Palette is looking for a Full Time Restaurant Reservationist/Operations Assistant.
This person will be responsible for creating many of the important documents our team relies on and that our guests see when they dine; including menus and beverage menus, menu notes, menu revisions, and floor and seating charts. They will also handle many of the restaurant’s interactions with guests, such as calling or emailing with guests, answering voicemails, and occasionally interacting in person. This candidate will also be acting as a hostess and greeter for the first turn of service. Must be friendly, outgoing, able to multitask, and have the persistence to follow through and complete tasks without constant oversight. Must provide professional, efficient, polished, and courteous service. Must be informed and be prepared to answer guest inquiries or questions, accurately and knowledgeably.
JOB DUTIES:
- Work quickly and precisely in a high-pressure environment, and handle stress and direct feedback with poise and integrity
- Create and maintain all menu recipes, labels, menu interiors for special events from digital to print through Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator
- Synthsize multiple platforms, including Resy, Opentable, and Tock, housing all to one house reservation report on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Maintain dietary notes in the daily menu notes and ticketing system
- Conduct efficient and professional reservation and dietary needs phone calls
- Handle multiple requests at any one time while maintaining composure
- Display a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times in dealing with guests and employees
- Respond to written communication in a professional and timely manner
- Work with colleagues on other teams to ensure that all guests requests are met
- Anticipate guests’ needs and provide well thought through solutions to any issues
- Handle initial guest issues or complaints, while keeping management fully informed of issues, and escalate to management as required
- Complete any project or other tasks assigned by management
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree, preference, or relevant education
- Computer literate (Adobe, various reservation systems, POS)
- Proficient knowledge in or ability to quickly learn Adobe Illustrator, and all Adobe programs
- Excellent verbal/written English required, Spanish an asset
- Pleasant, professional, and patient telephone manner
- Previous experience in fine dining, restaurants or hospitality
