Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Chef Manager responsible for leading all production and preparation of daily meals and special functions at a private college preparatory school located in Bethesda, MD.

 What you will do:

  • Foster an inclusive environment for all employees, staff, and guests, while maintaining effective client and customer-centric relationships

  • Lead the day-to-day support, training, and guidance of the production team; ensuring food quality standards, food safety and sanitation guidelines, and customer service expectations are met.

  • Assist with menu development; incorporating the latest trends and practices while working collaboratively alongside production staff to incorporate key ingredients/products into recipes and menu offerings on a daily basis.

  • Use traditional, made-from-scratch preparation methods and keep accurate production logs.

  • Monitor and supervise set up and maintenance of the dining area and food stations to ensure quality standards.

  • Assist leadership in supervising and assessing staff needs, conduct daily pre-production/in-service meetings, as well as support purchasing and inventory activities.

  • Keep detailed records and minimize waste through driving sustainability programs to improve waste reduction.  

  • Fill in for Account Director, as needed

 

What you need:

  • Culinary Degree and/or 5 years in Kitchen Supervisory role required

  • ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification required

  • Experience with high volume food service operations, preferably in school environments

  • Proficiency and growing knowledge of sustainable practices with a passion for reducing waste

  • Participative management style and excellent leadership skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Reliable Transportation

  • Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination. Exemptions available upon request
