Itamae, opened in 2018 by chef’s and owners Nando, Valerie & Fernando Chang, is a Nikkei-inspired restaurant rooted in Peruvian-Japanese flavors and traditions while also celebrating local and seasonal ingredients. Located in Miami Design District’s Palm Court, Itamae takes cues from Peruvian Picantería’s and classic European bistros.
Itamae is currently seeking a Restaurant Manager that shares our passion for its cuisine, embraces a motivational style of leadership and is able to balance the nuanced demands of this dynamic position.
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who is passionate about food and service, energetic, comfortable in a fast-paced environment and determined to provide guests with an excellent dining experience. As the Restaurant Manager, this candidate must develop a positive and inclusive work environment, leading in a hands-on capacity and striving to improve all financial and cultural aspects of the restaurant at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Standards & Execution
- Ensure excellent service is provided for all guests at all time
- Drive service standards for all Front of House positions and provide continuous support to all service staff and actively participate in services as needed
- Work with Front and Back of House management to engage and educate all staff
- Ensure excellent maintenance and cleanliness of the dining room at all times
- Maintain effective systems of communication between all member of the restaurant staff
- Properly open and close physical operation
Financial & Personnel Administration
- Ensure set profitability and budget goals are met
- Oversee the recruitment, training and scheduling of all Front of House staff
- Oversee Dining Room Managers in order to ensure restaurant is staffed effectively to execute all service standards
- Oversee the restaurants facilities maintenance by scheduling services to maintain the facilities at the highest operating level
- Ensure all proper operating standards are met and is a leading expert on food safety and labor compliance
Requirements and Skills:
- Excellent verbal & written communication
- At least 3 years' management experience in hospitality & fine dining
- Ability to foster the education of all FOH and BOH staff
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge
- Ability to manage multiple duties and projects at all times
- Problem solving & delegation
- Initiative & follow through
- Attention to detail
