Located in West Town Chicago, Aya Pastry celebrates the best of seasonal ingredients, with products crafted with precision and love. Aya Pastry offers a creative take on signature breads along with celebratory cakes, whimsical sweets, and breakfast pastries. The expansive bakery produces baked goods in large volume for our wholesale and retail customers.
Aya won Eater’s National Pastry Chef of the Year in 2016, was nominated in 2017 for James Beard Outstanding Pastry Chef, and won the Chicago Tribune’s Pastry Chef of the Year in 2018. What You Will Do
- Must be available 8:00AM-4:30PM, five days a week including weekends
- Take and prepare in-person and online orders using Shopify POS system.
- Greet and assist customers in the bakery storefront.
- Daily setup and breakdown of the storefront.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the storefront.
- Answer questions and recommend products to customers.
- Package products
- 1 year similar experience in a food service establishment.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems.
- Strong multi-tasking and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team oriented environment .
- A genuine interest and love for pastries and breads.
- Must have a great attitude and be service oriented.
- Illinois Food Handler's Certification
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly (Based on Experience) plus tips

Pastries will include unique savory and sweet croissants, jumbo “dino” macarons, Samoa cakes, pancake cookies, as well as a colorful array of celebration cakes, which will be available for wholesale purchase.
Aya, who was nominated in 2017 for James Beard Outstanding Pastry Chef and won Eater’s National Pastry Chef of the Year in 2016, has worked for many respected restaurants throughout Boston and Chicago. Most recently, Aya cultivated the bread and pastry program for the two-Michelin starred restaurants, Sixteen at Trump and Ria at the former Elysian hotel. The management team at Aya Pastry shares Aya’s impressive background and experience in fine dining and upscale hotels.
