Becco is looking for candidates with at least 2 year of casual, contempory casual, bistro or fine dining experience for the position of Sous Chef. Formal culinary training is favorable but significant experience in notable kitchens may be equally weighed. Candidates must be comfortable with all aspects of running a kitchen including kitchen prep, active cooking during service, expediting, recipe creation, kitchen management, ordering/inventory, and administration.
Sous Chef is expected to cultivate a positive work environment and foster teamwork at all times. Candidates should be prepared to lead by example with an admirable work ethic as well as a caring demeanor for all members of the team.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Flexible schedule, willingness to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
- At least one year experience as a sous chef or 3+ years as line cook in notable restaurant kitchens
- Experience with all facets of kitchen prep work including meat/butchering, fish/seafood, pasta and vegetables.
- A passion for food and Italian cuisine as well as a dedication to freshness and seasonality
- NYC food handlers license
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead and adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and exceptional work ethic
