Job Details

Overthrow Hospitality is an award winning restaurant group based in Manhattan, New York City. What started as a collection of tight knit, heartfelt restaurants and bars in the East Village is now blossoming nationwide with several new projects currently underway. Our goal is to maintain our core values by empowering the neighborhoods we serve and will require us to select the right team members now so we can build a strong Operations team as we continue to grow.

That’s where you come in!

We are seeking a talented hospitality veteran to assume FOH Management responsibilities for some of our most exciting locations, all within a 3 block radius of each other. While you will still be expected to perform a variety of administrative tasks, we are looking for someone who's first love is executing service. What makes our company unique is that by reducing some of the more mundane and time consuming tasks, our managers will be able to focus more on creating magical environments, inspiring staff by building team culture and providing great service that's unforgettable for our guests.

We offer competitive salaries, paid time off, health insurance and wellness credits.

In this role you will be responsible for supervising multiple locations and overseeing various teams within our organization. Multi-unit managers work directly with our office team to handle the budget limitations for each location. They recruit and train new staff, review compensation details with the human resources department, respond to employees' concerns, and facilitate training and programs that would maximize the staff's productivity and efficiency. A multi-unit manager must have excellent communication and leadership skills, especially in determining and achieving goals for the team and ensuring the highest customer satisfaction.

Our Operations team has worked closely with our managers over the years to learn more about the scope of this position. Because our Operations Team and Management Teams are so well integrated, our managers should never feel overwhelmed. This structure enables us to accomplish much more than one would expect in a multi-unit role. We have broken down the responsibilities into four sectors:

  1. Property Management: This includes but is not limited to facility & equipment maintenance issues, closing/opening procedures, weather related services, receiving management and repairs needed.

  2. Staff Management: Recruits, hires, reviews, trains and schedules team members for each property and is responsible for their team’s service performance (steps of service), quality and consistency.

  3. Health & Hygiene: In addition to being NYS Food Handler certified, you are responsible to ensure that each property meets all the required DOH protocol and passes state & local inspections with the highest letter grade/performance rating and ensure all staff are aware of food allergies and aversions by building systems of awareness and reinforcing health protocols.

  4. Administration: Administration includes but is not limited to calendar updates, cash management, meeting metric management, executing ordering, cost analysis, shifted scheduling, takeout/delivery platforms, Resy, guest relations, POS management, inventory reports, create new and reinforce existing SOP’s and recap reports with sales metrics for special events.

  5. Company Culture: You are the steward of our company’s culture for each property and are required to designate team leaders who can handle guest relations charismatically and assist them in executing management initiatives by reframing problems as learning opportunities. You must reinforce our Core Values primarily by example and orient your staff through empowerment  via team-building exercises and positive reinforcement.

TO APPLY:

If you think you have what it takes to join our fast-growing and dynamic team, please send a copy of your resume/CV and cover letter explaining why you'd be a good fit. All interested candidates are also required to complete our applicant questionnaire found on our careers page.

https://www.overthrowhospitality.com/careers.

Your application will not be considered unless this is completed.

Vegan / Vegetarian

Restaurant Group

Part of Overthrow Hospitality

Overthrow Hospitality is a mission-driven vegan restaurant and bar company from proprietor Ravi DeRossi, whose legacy in New York City’s East Village spans twenty years and dozens of venues. As a hospitality group, our mission is to build a place of purpose, a place where we don’t have to seek things on the outside to feel appreciated. A place where hard work and discipline creates unbreakable bonds. A place that's not just a job but a community. A world where you are celebrated for who we are intentionally, instead of accidentally, where being human is expected but acting out of love is required. A place that replaces the home many of us have lost.

For some, working in a bar or restaurant marks a period of transition. For others, it’s a lifelong pursuit packed with its own peaks and valleys. Our work is done on the inside, it's a reflection of who we are and we are guided wholly by the tenets that keep us motivated.
