Casa Nela is looking for a Sous Chef to join our culinary team in the West Village! Summary of Position:
The Sous Chef will be responsible for supervising the day to day operations at the restaurant including production of food at all stations, assisting the cooks when needed, as well as supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of food cost and labor cost control. The Sous Chef should assume command and manage all aspects of the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef. He/she should have accurate knife skills, the ability to read and follow recipes, train employees, and maintain health department, food quality, and company standards.
Requirements:
-Open availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as requested
-At least 5 years cooking in a high-volume kitchen, with at least 1 of those years in a management or supervisory role
-Experience with Word, Excel spreadsheets, Google Suite (sheets, docs, gmail, etc) and working with POS systems, R365, and other technology is required
-Self-motivated, inspiring, positive attitude and eager for growth
