Yopparai and Yopparai Ronin are busy authentic Japanese restaurants located on the Lower East Side. We are seeking a diligent and responsible prep cook to assist in food preparation before and during service, particularly for our high-end omakase menus.  While we seek candidates who have prior experience with Japanese cuisine, this is a great opportunity for learning and growth.  Limited experience is ok - we are willing to train ambitious qualified candidates.The position could become full-time or part-time. 

• Preparation of meats and vegetables
• Preparation of fish, stock (dashi), sauces, and rice
• Maintaining health and safety standards

The ideal candidate:

• Has familiarity with Japanese cuisine and ingredients
• Possesses basic knife skills
• Is a quick learner, able to follow recipes
• Is able to work afternoons/evenings and weekends
