The Porch Mission:
● To add value to our neighborhood by creating welcoming, casual and fun dining and entertainment experiences and by contributing to worthy local initiatives.
● To provide meaningful and gainful employment and professional development opportunities to members of our community.
● To form meaningful, authentic connections with our neighbors and guests that demonstrate how valuable they are.
● To be smart and innovative in how we conduct business in order to provide a sustainable level of return on our investment.
● To constantly and honestly evaluate our execution in pursuit of excellence.
The Porch Values:
● Providing our guests with positive, consistent, and memorable experiences is paramount.
● We are performers in this business and the restaurant is our stage. Always assume our guests are observing us.
● Maintain a mentality of ownership and accommodation. If you see it, you own it. In other words, if you notice an issue, take responsibility for it and see it through until the problem is solved.
● Personal integrity is more important than skills. New skills can be learned relatively quickly. Integrity is a lifelong pursuit.
● When in the wrong, take responsibility, fix the situation if you can and apologize where appropriate.
● Team success will be recognized above individual achievement. The best way to shine is to make those around you better.
● Asking questions or for assistance shows that you care about the outcome. "How can I help?" is always the right question. "That's not my job." is never the right answer.
● The best, most durable solutions are those in which all possible value is recognized, and everyone benefits as equitably as possible.
● It is OK to take measured risks in the pursuit of excellence. When taking such risks, successful outcomes should be translated into repeatable improvements. Unsuccessful outcomes also happen and are to be expected and accepted provided that they are not repeated and lessons are learned and applied.
● A high tolerance for ambiguity allows one to set things right with grace and dignity as quickly as and to the extent that the situation allows.
