THAMES STREET OYSTER HOUSE is hiring! We are searching for a part time FOOD RUNNER, HOSTS, part time BUSSERS and BARBACKS to join us! A full time positon combining two roles is an option as well. We are an extremely busy independent restaurant located in historic Fell's Point on the Thames Street waterfront. Some restaurant experience is helpful but is not required for these positions.
FOOD RUNNER: This is a well paid hourly and well tipped position, in a great working atmosphere of a busy restaurant. This position is great for someone who thrives in a fast paced atmosphere and has interest in working in a busy restaurant, commercial kitchen, or culinary in general. The role requires energy, focus, poise, and eventually learning how to expedite tickets and the food running process within a two story restaurant that serves guests both on the street front and the rear courtyard.
BUSSING: This is a great way to get a start in the industry while earning excellent compensation and learning new skills. You must be a very hard worker, have great attention to detail, and enjoy the fast paced setting of a busy restaurant and kitchen.
BARBACK: This is a well tipped position, in a great working atmosphere of a busy restaurant. The barback will assist the bartender by keeping supplies stocked behind the bar, setting and clearing guests for dinner, preparing ingredients, and doing stocking, trash, and cleaning. We have a few weeknight shifts available currently for this position.
HOST POSITION: We are searching for a well spoken, customer service professional. This is a tipped position, as hosts help with reservations, wait list, seating, and phone calls. Experience hosting and running a wait list is helpful, but not required. Otherwise, excellent communication skills, manners, and professionalism on the phone and in person are absolutely necessary. Ultimately we are looking for kind, professional, dedicated individuals to join our team.
