Summary-
The General Manager is the overriding authority in the restaurant when Owners are not present. As such they are responsible for managing and overseeing all personnel, facilities, service standards, financials, and administrative tasks of the day-to-day operations in conjunction with the Chef and while managing and leading the FOH team.
Expectations-
The General Manager (GM) is expected to lead by example and take an active role in managing staff and supporting service. The GM leads the management team and hourly employees by inspiring, motivating, and managing them to 1. Consistently meet and exceed their respective job performance standards 2. Continually perform their respective jobs in a manner that is consistent with and promotes our Core Values, and 3. To strictly respect and follow the policies and procedures of the Adelinas.
Financial Management-
The GM is responsible for the financial health of the restaurant and uses goals and standards as set by the Adelinas as their measure. This includes controlling of costs (beverage, labor, direct expenses), management of portions and waste, and training the management team to do these things as well. Additionally, they must possess the ability to read, understand, and create/present reports on weekly financials and weekly/monthly P&Ls.
What we need from you-
- 3+ years of leadership experience in restaurants and hospitality
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
- Proficient knowledge of systems and processes in restaurant management
- Strong business and financial acumen
- English fluency and Spanish knowledge preferred
- Safe Serve Certified
- Proficiency in a variety of technology systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Payroll, POS, and COGS Systems
- Excellent strategic planning skills with an emphasis on delivering, executing, and assessing action plans
- Ability to effectively solve and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and proactive attitude
- A solid track record of leading high-caliber service
- Flexible work schedules: the ability to work night, weekends, holidays, as business permits
- The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 50lbs
- Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time
