Hello there – Welcome to our job offering. Thank you for considering working with us. This is not an entry level position. This is for a candidate who is ready to hit the ground running and jumping into a double-dutch game-like atmoshpere. We take what we do seriously but not ourselves. We like to have fun. No cubicles, No TPS reports or uniforms. This job is fast paced, has lots to juggle, is challenging and enjoyable. But you’ll still have some chill computer time.

 

We want/need: an exceptional leader that is enthusiastic about working with food, drinks and people (everyone from host, dishwasher, server, bartender, farmer and more) and caring for  them and our guests at the highest level.

Compensation Package

·      Total Compensation of up to $80K+

·      100% coverage annual individual health/vision/dental

·      Quarterly & yearly bonuses

·      401k- company will match up to 4% of gross earnings

·      Paid time off

·      Meals and drinks benefits at LEONs Full Service as well as Brick Store Pub

·      Mandatory annual $1,000 for furthering education

 

Growth Potential

·      Our goal is that the person we hire to take on the General Manager/Community Leader role at LEONs will be qualified and interested in moving beyond that role into a larger organizational role. We’re hiring as much for potential as we are for experience.

 

Responsibilities

Training

·      Review & improve individualized and group training programs that address specific business needs

·      Review training manuals to be sure they are comprehensive and aligned with our culture

  • Identify and assess training needs through role analysis, career paths and consultation with hourly and salaried staff to improve staff retention

·      Drive Giggling Otter values and philosophy through all training and development activities

 

Hospitality

·      The feedback loop from guest to staff to management is top priority

·      Model hospitality throughout the entire restaurant to create a culture of care

·      Manage staff and guest concerns to a high level of satisfaction

·      Cultivate repeat guests and regulars; everyone leaves happy

 

Staff Leadership

·      Lead onboarding & termination, training schedules, staff discipline

  • Oversee schedule
  • Direct engagement with ownership involving strategic management, policy creation, budgets and financials

·      Assess employees’ skills, performance and productivity to identify areas of improvement. Hold one-on-ones with leadership and FOH staff for successful alignment.

·      You must be a great communicator with all types of people

·      Continue self-education with training trends, developments and best practices to continue to improve our processes

·      Manage shifts as needed

 

Building, Product & Budget Management

  • Oversee ordering, receiving, inventory control, equipment maintenance & repair
  • Facilitate & maintain inventory count

·      Select and manage resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to be sure we are using the best products available, the staff is trained on them and we are maximizing profit. Furthering collaboration of purchasing across multiple restaurants

·      Manage POS system to deliver the most efficient and effective process in shifts and for reporting

·      Work to ensure cost of goods goals are achieved

 

The Ideal Candidate

·      Is a strategic thinker with an innovative approach towards creating effective and efficient restaurant systems and procedures.

·      Is passionate about education, but also understands how to teach and train

·      Embraces diversity and empathy

·      Has minimum of 2 years of restaurant experience in training and development management

·      Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

·      Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

·      Has had great success in developing and executing sustainable training programs and team cultivation

·      Is tech savvy with proficiency related to business and communication tools

·      Has fantastic organizational and time management skills

·      Loves food, drink and hospitality far beyond the scope of work

LEONs just celebrated 13 years of successful business, team and community building. The same folks who opened LEONs created and developed Brick Store Pub which will be celebrating 25 years in June. Both establishments have received numerous awards and recognition over the years as bearers of gold standard hospitality establishments.
