THE GIG // The Human Resource Coordinator will organize and coordinate the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and leave, and editing company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will embrace HomeState's mission, vision, core values, practices and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate by phone and email ensuring that all duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner. Must be detail oriented with a positive attitude that promotes culture, teamwork and an exemplary image of HomeState.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with recruiting, training and onboarding efforts 
  • Coordinates the daily workflow of the department with exemplary organizational skill.
  • Provides timely filing of important documents such as post onboarding certifications and performance evaluations.  
  • Supports department by ensuring compliance with labor laws and sanitation regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Partners with the Human Resources team to understand and execute the organization’s benefit and strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Project manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment and onboarding checklists. 
  • Researches competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assists with building out training and policy programs and assets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and ask for help when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with weekend availability and with occasional sixth day required. 
  • Must be able to to travel between HomeState locations as needed via personal transportation method and ability to track mileage for reimbursement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong computer skills in Mac environment; proficient Google email and drive, google sheets, and Paylocity preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of human resource coordination experience preferred.
  • Be able to work in a standing or sitting position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours excluding breaks), lift items up to 15lbs.

Compensation: Hourly ($25.00 - $35.00)
