Job Details

Stellina Pizzeria, a Michelin bib gourmand restaurant, is looking for a line cook to join our team in either of  Washington, DC locations- one in the Union Market neighborhood and the second in K Street/Mt Vernon!

Our menu is centered around Southern Italian food and neo-Neapolitan style pizzas. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside Chef Matteo Venini in our kitchen that overlooks the dining room.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Execute various stations (garde manger, pasta, grill, salad, pizza), which includes prepping, cleaning, and stocking stations pre- and post-service 
  • Maintaining quality and consistency of dishes 
  • Support other areas of the kitchen as needed, and be able and willing to assist teammates in the restaurant as needed, including handling duties of other stations (i.e., pastry, pasta, etc.) or supporting prep cooks 
  • Maintain clean, sanitized, and organized workstation during each shift, while observing internal and regulatory (health, fire department, etc.) guidelines at all times 
  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Problem Resolution

Requirements include: 

  • At least 2 years of relevant restaurant experience preferred 
  • Genuine passion for cooking, restaurant hospitality, and learning new skills 
  • Highly organized, productive, and able to work meticulously in a high-intensity kitchen/work environment 
  • Energetic and friendly personality, with strong willingness and ability to work as part of a cohesive team and support colleagues regardless of role   
  • Broad and flexible availability to work – AM/PM service and prep/production 
  • Physical requirements include ability to handle and carry trays, smallware, equipment, or other items up to 35lbs, and to stand, walk up and downstairs, and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period of time
