Job Details

l'abeille is a 54 seat French “Bistronomy” Restaurant in the heart of lower Manhattan in Tribeca headed by Chef Mitsunobu Nagae, who has extensive experiences in haute cuisine at multiple Michelin-Starred restaurants in Tokyo (L'Osier, Chateau Restaurant Joel Robuchon), Paris (Ledoyen), and New York (L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Shun). His vision for the Restaurant is to provide the kind of food one would be served at great restaurants in France - highest quality food served in a friendly, non-formal environment is the core concept of our dining experience.

We are seeking strong candidates with love and passion for French cuisine to be a member of our team as Pastry Chef.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a restaurant with a focus on pastry, with at least 2 years of having managerial responsibilities
  • A genuine passion, knowledge and skills of classic and modern French pastries
  • Evaluate performance: lend guidance, leadership, and discipline as needed with the assistance of the Executive Chef.
  • Monitor to ensure proper receiving, storage (including temperature setting) and rotation of food products to comply with Health Department and Department of Agriculture and Markets regulations.
  • Recipe development
  • Experience at a fine dining restaurant over 40 seats.

l’abeille is a 54 seat French restaurant located at 412 Greenwich Street on a classic Tribeca cobblestone street corner.

The restaurant is centered on a six-course prix-fixe menu but also provides a rotating selection of seasonal a-la-carte dishes with a strong wine and cocktail program.

l’abeille is the brainchild of Chef Mitsunobu Nagae, a veteran Michelin-starred chef who has worked at multiple legendary restaurants in Tokyo, Paris, and New York. Chef Mitsu was most recently the Chef de Cuisine at Shun in Midtown Manhattan.
