Lula Café, the farm-to-table institution and seriously busy Logan Square hub, is hiring a PM sous chef.
For 22 years we have been a vibrant restaurant, always searching, changing, and looking for new paths forward. Today we continue that search with the hopes of finding a unique individual to join our management team in a role we hope to be equally unique in its leadership capacity.

Our PM Sous Chef, in collaboration with our team of chefs, is responsible for the production, organization and execution of our PM service and kitchen team.
Duties include:
-maintain a steady focus on Lula’s Core Values and their presence in the workplace
-maintain a high standard of efficiency, cleanliness and organization
-cultivate and lead a group of free thinking and diverse employees to work toward a common purpose
-promote sustainability and a healthy workplace culture
-manage employee training and growth
-collaborate with the Lula kitchen management team on creative and seasonal thought towards menus and product
Daily Responsibilities:
-collaborate with Lula’s Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine on production efficiencies and organization
-execute seasonal menu changes and implementation with Chef de Cuisine
-implement and execute production for PM menu
-oversee PM service setup with PM line cooks
-oversee and execute PM menu tastings and adjustments
-oversee and execute PM kitchen service close, focusing on cleanliness and organization
-review closing mise en place sheets, additional orders for next day production
-collaborate with kitchen management team on food and labor cost control
-expedite AM and PM services on an as needed basis
-assist various departments with organization, cleanliness, production, execution and quality assurances
