JOB SUMMARY
The bartender position is a part-time seasonal position that is primarily mobile in nature. The bartender is responsible for setting up the bar, mixing cocktails and pouring beverages for guests, occasionally providing table service, transitioning bar service between bar locations within events, and breaking down the bar. Events may occur in both indoor and outdoor venues at various times.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Assesses provided beverage product upon arrival at the event and reports potential issues to the event captain or lead server
- Creates and serves cocktails to the guests, following industry standard recipes or provided specialty drink recipes
- Serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests
- Confirms proof of age for guests appearing younger than thirty years old
- Reports excessively inebriated guests to the Event Manager or Event Captain
- Sets up the complete Bar Area at Events
- Carries the provided beverage product and/or glassware to the bar(s)
- Neatly dresses bars with linens as necessary
- Sets up provided glassware at the bar and returns empty glass racks/boxes to the scullery area
- Neatly displays available beverages on the bar top
- Transfers necessary beverage product and/or equipment between bars when guests transition to different areas of the event, including heavy coolers, chill tubs, wine boxes, and glassracks
- Tray passes beverages to guests when requested
- Serves beverages to guest tables when requested
- Breaks down bar at directed time by racking all dirty and clean glassware and carrying them to scullery
- Packs up and separates full and partially full beverages for pickup
- Loads beverages into directed vehicle
- Wipes & cleans floor in bar area(s) as necessary
- Ensure cleanliness of bar area is always maintained
- Report any safety hazards to Event Manager or Event Captain
- Empties bar trash cans and slosh buckets as needed and disposes as directed by the event captain
- Carries provided 20-lb and 40-lb bags of ice to the bar(s)
- Double-lines all bar trash cans with provided trash bags
