Restaurant Aleksandar is seeking an Executive Chef
Our Restaurant's Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing kitchen staff and ensuring the quality of food items. Their duties include hiring and training staff to cook their dishes, expediting orders to maintain a steady flow of dishes and creating dishes to add to the menu. They should be an energetic ambassador for our full service restaurant in Philadelphia. We are looking to give the right person a creative and supportive platform. Responsibilities include
- Oversight of quality control
- Creative control of all BOH programming
- Weekly, monthly, yearly P&L calculation
- Labor and staff management
- Inventory and maintaining vendor relationships
- Maintaining weekly cleaning schedules
- Producing prep kitchen lists and fulfilling prep schedules
- Hiring, training and supervising kitchen staff
- Assisting and directing kitchen staff in meal preparation, creation, plating and delivery
- Identifying and introducing new culinary techniques
- Preparing meals and completing prep support as needed
- Make sure that all kitchen and wait staff adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen
Requirements for consideration
- A degree in culinary arts or management is preferred but not necessary
- 3+ years of experience in a back-of-house management position
- Significant experience as a chef, in addition to experience as a sous chef or line cook
- Strong attention to detail
- Creativity
- Ability to oversee and manage kitchen operations
- Ability to remain productive when pulled in many different directions
