Momofuku was founded by chef David Chang in 2004 with the opening of Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City. Credited with “the rise of contemporary Asian-American cuisine” by the New York Times and named the “most important restaurant in America” by Bon Appétit magazine, Momofuku has restaurants in the United States and Canada as well as a line of restaurant-grade products for home cooks.
About Ko and Ko Bar
Momofuku Ko opened in 2008. Ko is guided by the Japanese kaiseki tradition as well as seasonality, the innovation of our mentors and peers, food memories, and the breadth of cuisine available in the melting pot of New York City. Ko has two Michelin stars, which it has maintained since 2009. In 2015, Ko was awarded three stars by the New York Times.
Ko Bar, which opened in 2018, serves an evolving a la carte menu and an expansive beverage program.
The Ko Bar Server will be warm, hospitable, yet professional and exacting while providing above and beyond service in line with Momofuku standards and values. We are looking for well-presented, organized individuals who want to be part of a team that tests limits.

Responsibilities
- Committed to constant improvement of teamwork and communication
- Performing opening and closing duties to standards required
- Setting up and detailing bar and outside seating area and stations to standards required
- Driving the guest experience in accordance with restaurant goals through a genuine welcome, appropriate menu guidance and effective ordering
- Complementing host duties in seating, reservation and table management
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of bussing stations and dish pits
- Ensure food and beverage arrive to guests quickly and correctly; and confirming guest satisfaction
- Assist beverage servers, mise servers and bartenders by communicating 86s, menu changes, and/or other food related information
- Quickly and correctly transport food from the kitchen to the guest, if needed
- Communicate respectfully with chefs (and kitchen team) as necessary
- Ensure food and beverage arrive to guests quickly and correctly; and confirming guest satisfaction
- Ensure proper table maintenance, including water service, pre-bussing, etc.
- Cleaning and polishing all wares, and restocking
- Effectively communicating service irregularities to all
- Assisting in bathroom checks
- Confident and correct use of POS system for order entry and payment processing
- Full knowledge of bar food and beverage menus, and able to guide guests to best order
- Full knowledge of Momofuku and Momofuku Ko, and be able to answer FAQs
- Adhere to grooming and dress code standards
- Assisting in deep cleaning of the restaurant
- Constantly pushing to creatively interpret positive guest relations and industry standards
- Adhere to covid-19 related health and safety standards
Skills & Requirements
- Willing to train the right person but 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Must possess strong empathy and team spirit
- Exceptional communication, service and floor skills
- Ability to work in an organized and meticulous manner with strong attention to small details
- Solution-focused, receptive to constructive criticism and general performance feedback
- Must have strong interest in food & wine, & the business of hospitality

Physical Demands
- The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
