Located on eighty rolling acres, in picturesque Rappahannock County, Virginia, Blue Rock is a new take on the classic country inn. Breathtaking views overlooking a Koi pond set against a backdrop of vineyards and the Blue Ridge Mountains, create the perfect environment to have a glass of wine, delicious dinner, or throw a dream wedding.
We are seeking energetic, friendly and highly motivated individuals with a passion for cooking. With a small, tight-knit team, there is ample opportunity to learn about and be involved in all aspects of kitchen operation, including butchery, recipe development, logistics, expediting, and financial management. This position is best suited for an individual who desires to own or operate their own restaurant one day. The sous chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure that the kitchen is running smoothly and up to standard on a daily basis.
The culinary team has Michelin star experience, and there will be lots of opportunity for advancement and growth for the individual that is looking to grow with us.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and assist the Chef in all aspects of culinary operations
- Evaluate products and dishes to ensure consistentency with high quality standards
- Train and develop hourly employees
- Operate service on a nightly basis
- Oversee and be a part of regular production, maintaining standards throughout
- Oversee and be a part of financial management for the business
- Menu creation with the oversight of the Executive Chef
Qualifications
- 2+ years' of culinary or kitchen management experience in an upscale dining atmosphere
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($50,000.00 - $70,000.00) plus tips
