Pearl's Oyster Bar at Reading Terminal is looking for a new chef with some fresh ideas. Daytime hours, lots of room for growth, and a unique working environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Compose new menu items based on seasonality
- Design and execute menus for special events
- Manage line cooks, dishwashers
- Maintain high quality and consistency of food
- Control costs, minimize waste
- Interview and hire new BOH staff
- Monthly inventory and food cost assessment
- Maintain a regular cleaning schedule for kitchen areas and equipment
- Collaborate with owner to ensure quality of service
Requirements:
- Strong culinary background and education or equivalent
- Previous experience as a kitchen leader
- Excellent customer service skills in our open kitchen
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong mentoring and leadership skills
- ServeSafe Food Safety Certificate
