We are looking for a looking for a Chef de Cuisine to join our team at Hojoko with an insatiable hunger for delicious food and drink. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Japanese cuisine and culture, as well as a strong background in kitchen management. Candidates must have the ability to control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control. This is a full time, salaried position offering great benefits and an educational environment.

Cushman Concepts is a dynamic restaurant group created by husband and wife team Chef Tim and Nancy Cushman. They have founded and lead restaurants in Boston whose collective vision is to create unique hospitality experiences that surprise and delight their guests every day.  We challenge ourselves every day and are inspired by providing guests with crave-able food, beverage and warm service in unique ways. Candidates must love food and drink, be humble and ego-free, dependable and have a consistent, genuinely positive attitude/demeanor. A love of hospitality with 1-2 years of kitchen management experience preferred. Ability to work in a high-volume environment.  We are looking for smiling faces and genuine personalities. Responsibilities include:

  • Hiring, training, managing and developing the kitchen team
  • Menu and recipe development. We pride ourselves on our creativity and quality ingredients and work with our team to continuously evolve both our tasting menu as well as the a la carte options.
  • Managing of labor, food cost and sanitation practices
  • Execution of best practices in the kitchen
