Peak is hiring a Head Chef of Events to Join our Team.
Peak is a premium restaurant located on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards; in a State-of-the-Art building with panoramic views and situated above Edge the highest outdoor observation deck in the city. A luxurious destination with breath-taking views of lower New York City.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Executive Chef and Events Director to develop new menu items
- Create and Test New recipes and Food Displays
- Train Kitchen Staff on the implementation of new Menu and Display Items
- Enforce all Kitchen guidelines and Company policies in the kitchen and Events
- Attend all appropriate meetings as needed (i.e. Production Meeting)
- Health code adherence – Train employees and enforce Health Dept. regulations
- Manage events (300+) from beginning to completion
- Manage sit-down dinners (250+) from beginning to completion
Position Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in culinary management role
- Flexible in work shifts and hours
- Culinary degree or apprenticeship
- Strong people management and communication skills
- Detail and results oriented
- Knowledge of practices and procedures of Events, food & beverage, and hospitality
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000/yearly (depending on experience)
