Job Details

We are currently seeking an innovative fine dining- Banquet Style Event Chef to join our team at the Veranda located in Soho.
Veranda is a collaboration between highly acclaimed chef George Mendes, restaurateur David Rabin, and catering and events group Abigail Kirsch. Set beneath a state-of the-art, retractable greenhouse, our dining room allows for flexible indoor/outdoor dining, with several additional indoor and outdoor cocktail areas. ***A la Carte dining and High-Level Catering events experience required. Key Accountabilities:

  • ·Plan, organize and supervise daily culinary operation of all catered events.
  • Direct and coordinate the work of culinary production staff
  • Direct and participate in the daily preparation of standard and gourmet food items
  • Inspection of assigned stations to observe quality of food preparation and service; food appearance; and cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment and employee appearance.
  • Maintain proper inventory controls for food, supplies, and equipment. Interview, select, train and evaluate supervisory and support staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certification by a recognized culinary institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
  • Demonstrated culinary skills to include large quantity and high level production.
  • Previous experience in ala carte dining
  • Must have 5 years of culinary management experience.
  • ServeSafe Certification
  • Strong leadership, oral and written communication skills are required.
