The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges in WESTCHESTER NY seeking Steward (dishwasher/porter) Supervisor.

Responsibilities (these are non-exclusive):
- Take responsibility of the stewarding operation acting as a partner to the Restaurant General Manager and Director of Operations.
- Assisting, managing, and training the employees to do their work to their greatest ability.
- The stewarding supervisor must also provide assistance to the kitchen for plate up, doing whatever it takes to ensure a smooth service.
- Able to keep employees busy and motivated
- Achieve goals and missions for the stewarding department
- Support the company philosophies
- Organization of china, glasses, silverware and hollowware from the outlets and main storage
- Provide enough equipment (china, glasses, silver) to the outlets and banquets for their operations
- Work with and control chemicals supplies
- Develop a cleaning schedule for the kitchen, pastry, garden manger, banquets and coolers
- Do banquet requisition for banquets from the B.E.Os.
- Control all the expenses. Paper supply, fuel supply, uniform, cleaning supply; etc…
- Assist and provide equipment for any banquet function
- Maintain Hygiene and Control program for the kitchen and surround areas
- Support and enforce standards and procedures for department, as necessary
- Create a good relationship with all the employees and managers
- Listen and resolve all the complaints from the employees in a way that builds trust
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years in the luxury hotel culinary business
- Minimum of 2 years experience Steward (or equivalent) who has high motivation to learn on the job
- Must have strong sense of urgency
- Must be a team player and have strong communication skills
