PASTRY COOK
The Fulton by Jean Georges, a seafood restaurant with stunning river views, will be opening at Pier 17 this Spring. Come join an exciting new opening in the Seaport District, with an emphasis on quality and excellence.
We are now seeking pastry cooks to join the opening team.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and perform job duties to the expectations of The Fulton.
- Learn and understand pastry menu and new items as needed.
- Prep pastry items as directed by Pastry Chef.
- Ensure proper plating, presentation, and pacing of dessert items.
- Maintain utmost cleanliness of station, avoid cross contamination, especially of allergens.
- Operate ethically to protect the image of company.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment in the dining room and all service stations at all times.
- Maintain a good working relationship with others by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working climate.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- A passion for food, wine and service
- A strong sense of urgency
- A strong culinary background in premium service restaurants, preferably in NYC
- Superior communication skills (both written and spoken)
- The ability to commit to 2 years or more in a position
- A desire for growth
- Have long term goals in the service industry
- A competitive spirit
- A focus on hospitality and guest rapport alongside development of a regular clientele
- A rigorous attention to detail
