Job Details

We are currently looking for a Chef with an empathetic leadership style, one that leads by showing and teaching rather than demanding and expecting. We expect the ideal candidate to maintain the culture we have established while simultaneously enjoying the challenge of preparing delicious meals for our customers. Essential duties include studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing quality dishes that showcase our seasonal offerings. The ideal candidate must be able to delegate tasks to the kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner and according to recipe. If you have experience with advanced cooking techniques and non-traditional ingredients, we’d like to meet you. .

Responsibilities

  • Trains, develops and motivates kitchen staff to meet established food preparation and recipe adherence standards.
  • Displays exceptional leadership qualities while providing a healthy and positive working environment.
  • Able to provide direction for all day to day operations in the kitchen.
  • Utilizes interpersonal skills to lead and develop kitchen staff.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, coaching and positive reinforcement when needed.
  • Reviews staffing levels to ensure operational needs and labor objectives are met.
  • Actively involved in menu development.
  • Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Maintains quality levels of ordering, receiving and storage of all product.
  • Ensures all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned, maintained and in proper working condition.

Requirements

  • 2 years of previous related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of food professional principles and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of BOH systems, ordering and inventory.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exemplary communication skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking skills and recipes.
  • Familiar with sanitary regulations.
  • Culinary School Diploma a plus but not a requirement.
