Parkside is a Modern American restaurant located in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood. Our kitchen is based around seasonality, with a focus on sourcing ingredients from as many local and domestic producers as possible. Our dinner service is open Tuesday - Saturday from 5-10pm, and we are looking for full and part time candidates to join our team.
Currently we are looking for full and part time PM line cooks with positions starting $18/hr.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive attitude and a neat, clean and professional image
- Produce and maintain station prep
- With minimal assistance, be able to set up and work multiple stations at an acceptable level
- Maintain a station inventory and ordering guide
- Works efficiently with a constant sense of urgency
- Report to the chef team
- Ability to take direction and constructive feedback
- Present a possible menu item every 3 months (more if you want) for consideration
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Proper cleaning and closing procedures
- Willingness to assist in breakdown every night. Everyone in this kitchen is a dishwasher. We are a team.
Requirements
- 2 years cooking experience prefered
- Excellent understanding of various techniques and ingredients
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Desire to be a productive member of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to move or handle equipment/ product throughout the restaurant generally weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day in a hot environment
- Available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Illinois Food Handlers Certificate
