Seeking a seasoned line cook to help run an up and coming small East Village Restaurant. Must have at least 1-2 years restaurant BOH experience. We are a small restaurant looking to build a strong team to carry us through the winter season, and beyond. The menu primarily consists of seafood prepared in various ways, as well as fun, casual bites like burgers, corn dogs, and bar snacks. We try very hard to stay seasonal yet approachable. Looking for the right individual to step in or possibly train into the role. 30 hr work weeks, compensation negotiable, and based on experience. Starting at 22/hr, BOE. More shifts negotiable, looking for someone to eventually step into a LEAD line or possible Sous Chef role.
The ideal candidate would help carry out the following duties:
-someone who is willing to work and learn all stations on the line, including colds/raw bar, grill, fryer, and expediter.
- Prep throughout the week including station prep and mise en place. Being able to read and follow recipes, taste, execute, and plate food orders during service.
-must be organized and possess an overall enthusiastic attitude towards the job. We don’t expect you to learn everything overnight; however team building, communication, and strong leadership skills are necessary for a successful partnership.
