The Box House Hotel is home to our top notch Rooftop Event Venue, Box House Events. We have a 10,000 Square foot events space that caters to world class weddings, corporate, and social events. We are in search of talented line cooks to help continue to build and execute our events. Who you are:
Our Line Cooks are integral to the Box House Hotel & Box House Event’s culinary team. As a Line Cook, you have a strong passion for food and an eagerness to learn more about global cuisine. Box House Hotel’s eclectic menu features refined food with seasonal ingredients which comes with the opportunity to understand and build on your skills, and grow as a leader in the kitchen.
What you’ll do:
Understand, maintain, and execute daily the culinary standards and core principles as set by the company
• Consistently ensure that station mise en place is prepped, seasoned, and stocked throughout service and overall station remains sanitary, clean and organized.
• Effectively participates in a professionally run service period, ensuring excellence in cooking, timing, plate assembly, and communication.
• Maintain a calm mental athleticism while cooking and simultaneously taking direction from the management team.
• Promote teamwork and excellence amongst the kitchen team.
• Demonstrate an eagerness to refine techniques and a desire to continually learn and grow.
What we need from you:
• 1+ years in a Line Cook position at a full-service restaurant
• Knowledge and a commitment of proper food handling and cooking.
• Adhere and maintain all NYC DOH & company sanitation standards
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
• English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required.
