This position is essentially the first point of contact for our guests in a myriad of ways. The Reservationist is an integral part of our team. By effectively using Tock, he/she is a liaison not only between guests and our team, but also the front and back of house. The position is primarily filled with reservationist duties, with regular shifts as a host. The position reports directly to the General Manager of Atelier and Bar Crenn, and works in tandem with the Office Manager of both locations.
A large part of this position involves guest interaction via phone, email and in person. This position is ideal for someone with experience in the service industry, but looking for growth and experience in administrative and operational skills. Previous restaurant experience strongly recommended.
Responsibilities:
Answer the phone with our greeting from beginning until the end of the shift; Respond to basic questions about restaurant information and policies.
Offer professional guest service by assisting guests with Tock, our reservation system, and other special requests, for both Atelier Crenn and Bar Crenn.
Maintain/Monitor the reservation book and the email inbox. Check the voicemail multiple times per day and call back guests for both Atelier Crenn and Bar Crenn.
Reconfirm dietary restrictions with guest 48h prior to reservation and making sure to collect any other necessary information.
Act as the point of communication between the Chef and the General Manager on any guest details.
Help guests purchase and redeem gift certificates when needed; Maintain gift certificate log. Handle special gift and prepayment requests.
Cut and punch menus, print chits, prepare reservation report, and any other materials needed for service
Maintain website by keeping menus, policies, events, and photos up to date
Assist Office Manager with retail supplies inventory management
Assist Office Manager with creation of menus.
Assist Office Manager in maintaining office organization/cleanliness as needed
Assist General Manager with administrative tasks as needed
Assist with Bleu Belle Farm event menu/materials production
Work collaboratively with the Office Manager on projects as needed.
Greeting guests upon arrival and exit
Manage seating arrangement for smooth flow of service
Maintain Coat check
Assisting Somms and the management team on floor with water service, clearing, mise en place, resetting, running food, etc.
Working in conjunction with the Host/Maitre D on greeting standards
Qualities required:
- Must be hospitable and engage with sincerity. Always warm and professional
- Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
- Must have guest service experience, be well spoken, and have excellent written communication skills in English.
- Must also be able to communicate concisely and effectively with kitchen teams.
- Must have computer and Microsoft Office proficiency, plus Google suite products
- Adaptability, creative problem solving, time management and organizational skills
- Must have minimum food knowledge. Interest in food is definitely a must.
