We work with the top event producers, photographers and fashion labels in NYC and we are looking to grow our team with other like-minded individuals.
The Role:
We are looking for a passionate and strong full time Sous Chef who has had exposure to fast-paced high volume kitchens. Catering experience is highly preferred.
This is a kitchen manager position and there is a high level of administration expected. You will be overseeing the daily kitchen production, managing staff, running kitchen teams at events, ordering, inventory and liaising with clients.
As Sous Chef at M&G Foodstuff you;
- Must be able to work well under pressure and can work autonomously;
- Have a broad range of kitchen skills in all sections including basic baking and pastry;
- Have a passion for food and the hospitality industry;
- Are ALWAYS punctual with NO exceptions!!;
- Can follow instruction and carry out your daily tasks efficiently and cleanly;
- Can communicate professionally with people and have great relationship building skills and also problem solving skills;
- Pride yourself on your clean and professional appearance with impeccable personal hygiene;
- Maintain consistent quality of work;
- Must have food handlers certificate;
- Must have experience with DOH inspections;
- Must understand the product and vision of the company while striving to become better;
- Must be able to start at 5am.
