The team behind The Fat Radish & Nats on Bank is hiring a SOUS CHEF to join The Orchard Townhouse team. The Orchard Townhouse is a bistro-style american restaurant location in West Chelsea NYC. Open only 5 days a week (Tuesday-Saturday) lunch & dinner.
This is a great role for someone junior looking to grow into a management role or a sous chef looking to take the next step. Lots of advancement available with a growing company!
Duties include
-assist Head Chef with the daily administrative operations of the kitchen
a. inventory, receiving, ordering
b. building schedules and monitoring labor on a daily basis in relation to bussines levels
c. upkeeping checklists & recipes
d. disciplinary and performance reviews for BOH team
-providing leadership and direction to all kitchen personnel. And continual training of the staff
-oversee the prep team
-maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitized kitchen in accordance with DOH.
-strong line skills, will be expected to work the line on certain shifts
Previous leadership/management is recommended. Must be hands on with strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse staff.

Skills and Qualities
* previous kitchen management position
* DOH Certified or must become within the first 2 months.
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to assess and respond to issues as they arise
* Level-headed and efficient during high-volume/pressure situations
* Sense of urgency: works hard and assists fellow team members
* Desire to learn and grow within the company, career-minded and ambitious
