Job Details

The team behind Eleven Madison Park, led by three Michelin star chef Daniel Humm, is looking for an experienced Executive Sous Chef to run the operations of their newly established commissary kitchen.  This kitchen will serve an exciting new project in the works from the world’s best restaurant.  We are looking for a passionate and experiencedperson to inspire, lead, and manage our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, well organized and has a commitment to excellence.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive Chef on menu planning recipe development. 
  • Coordinate with our network of purveyors to ensure availability and menu planning. 
  • Oversee the production, packaging of all food items. 
  • Ensure quality control across all products.
  • Hire, train and discipline hourly and management staff.
  • Aid in the development of new recipes and products.
  • Work with our non-profit partner to further pursue our efforts to end food insecurity.
  • Control food and labor costs.
  • Determine standard operating procedures for the products of new products.
  • Align with the marketing team for new product launches.

Requirements for Success:

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Capability to teach and mentor others
  • Experience with a variety of cooking styles and techniques
  • Ability to adapt and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Michelin-star restaurant experience required
  • 3+ years management experience required
