Nura, a new restaurant in Greenpoint (a block away from McCarren Park and the Nassau G), is looking for a talented and motivated sous chef to be a part of our team! We want an individual who wants to be a part of a respectful, hard-working, and creative staff that are excited to learn, create and help each other grow in the kitchen. The menu utilizes global ingredients, an extensive bread program, and exciting dishes that feature local and seasonal produce. All kitchen equipment is brand new, including our tandoori oven.
What we are looking for:
- 3+ years of Sous Chef experience in similar environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, scheduling, inventory and purchasing experience necessary
- Understanding of all stations, techniques, product and standards
- Food Handler’s Card and High knowledge of DOH procedures required
- A passion for cooking, a desire to create a healthy work environment, and the ability treat people with kindness and respect.
- Strong communication and organization skills
